Backend Platform Lead — US Base

ABFinance is a US-based company building the future of digital finance. Our vision is to create a seamless financial ecosystem where digital assets, traditional finance, and everyday money management come together in one platform. We are building a compliant, security-first infrastructure serving both retail and institutional users — including a crypto exchange, debit card, and yield-generating financial products. About the Role We are looking for a Backend Platform Lead to own and scale our backend platform capabilities. This role focuses on building reusable, scalable backend systems that support multiple product lines such as trading, wallet, payments, and compliance. You will define architecture, improve engineering efficiency, and enable fast and reliable product delivery. Key Responsibilities Define backend platform architecture, standards, and best practices Build and scale core platform services (e.g. user, account, permissions, workflow, messaging) Improve system scalability, reliability, and performance Lead and mentor backend engineers Drive technical decisions in a fast-paced, evolving environment Partner with product and engineering teams to enable system abstraction and reuse Requirements 6–10+ years of backend development experience, with leadership experience Strong experience in Java and/or Go Solid understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture Experience building platform-level or shared backend systems Strong understanding of scalability, performance, and system reliability Experience with databases, messaging systems, and API design Strong ownership mindset and ability to drive technical decisions Fluent in both English and Mandarin (required) Based in the United States (New York is a strong plus) Preferred Qualifications Experience in crypto / trading / fintech / payment systems Experience building systems from 0→1 in startup environments Familiarity with high-concurrency and low-latency systems
