Fiat Engineering Lead — US Base

We are building a compliant, security-first infrastructure serving both retail and institutional users — including a crypto exchange, debit card, and yield-generating financial products. About the Role We are looking for a Fiat Engineering Lead to own and scale our fiat infrastructure. This role is responsible for building and managing systems that bridge traditional financial rails and digital assets, including payments, banking integrations, and fund flows. You will lead the design and delivery of reliable, compliant, and scalable fiat systems in a highly regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Own architecture and delivery of fiat-related systems (payments, on/off-ramp, fund flow) Build and scale integrations with banks, payment providers, and financial partners Ensure system reliability, correctness, and compliance alignment Lead and mentor backend engineers within the fiat domain Drive technical decisions across payment flows, reconciliation, and settlement Partner closely with compliance, risk, and operations teams Requirements 6–10+ years of backend development experience, with leadership experience Strong experience in Java and/or Go Experience building payment, banking, or financial systems Solid understanding of transaction systems, reconciliation, and settlement flows Familiarity with APIs, messaging systems, and distributed architectures Strong ownership mindset in high-risk, high-correctness environments Ability to work across engineering, compliance, and business teams Fluent in both English and Mandarin (required) Based in the United States (New York is a strong plus) Preferred Qualifications Experience in crypto / exchange / on-off ramp systems Familiarity with regulatory or compliance-related system design (KYC, AML, transaction monitoring) Experience building systems from 0→1 in startup environments
