VP of Engineering

We’re now seeking an experienced VP of Engineering to lead the technical vision, architecture, and engineering strategy behind our next-generation compliance and blockchain infrastructure. If you’re passionate about building foundational Web3 infrastructure that will be used by global financial institutions, this is where you’ll make an impact. What You’ll Do • Own the end-to-end technical vision and architecture for Cleanverse’s compliance-native financial infrastructure, including identity, tokenisation, and cross-chain transaction layers. • Lead the development of A-Pass (identity-bound token), A-Token Layer (compliance-filtered stablecoin aggregator), and the Cleanverse Network’s interoperability stack. • Architect, design, and deliver scalable backend systems, blockchain components, smart contracts, API gateways, and enterprise-grade compliance engines. • Build and scale an engineering organisation across backend, blockchain, infrastructure, DevOps, and security teams. • Translate regulatory, compliance, and governance requirements (MAS, HKMA, FCA, etc.) into robust technical implementations. • Establish development standards, security practices, documentation, and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring audit-ready engineering across all systems. • Collaborate closely with product, security, design and business teams to deliver high-impact, regulation-ready features on a fast timeline. • Oversee system reliability, cloud architecture, performance, observability, and data governance across the Cleanverse stack. • Represent Cleanverse in discussions with partners, auditors, regulators, and enterprise customers on technical and architectural matters. What We’re Looking For • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 3–5 years in a senior technical leadership role (VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, or equivalent). • Proven track record building scalable, secure, high-availability systems in fintech, payments, blockchain, or regulated technology environments. • Strong technical depth across: – Blockchain stacks (EVM mandatory; Solana/BTC/L2s a bonus) – Smart contract design & security best practices – Distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, database architecture – API platforms, microservices, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines • Experience leading engineering teams, establishing standards, and shipping mission-critical products. • Strong understanding of compliance-aligned technologies (KYC/AML, Travel Rule, sanctions screening, identity verification, attestations). • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders including regulators, auditors, and enterprise partners. Nice to Have • Experience building identity systems, SBTs, ZK-based attestations, or compliance-oriented blockchain protocols. • Familiarity with cross-chain bridges, rollups, MPC wallets, or tokenised asset frameworks. • Background in cybersecurity, cryptography, or financial infrastructure. • Prior experience in a fast-growth or 0→1 startup environment. • Exposure to AI-agent workflows or automated transaction monitoring.
