Company Overview FatFish AI develops visual action intelligence for robots operating in real environments. Our CAMP One platform connects perception, task planning and execution across different robot brands and platforms, including humanoids, quadrupeds and wheeled robots. Based in Singapore, we are a team of 10 operating as FATFISH TECHNOLOGY PTE. LTD. We are hiring a hands-on AI Engineer to own the development and deployment of computer vision and edge AI services, working directly with the founder and engineering team. You will take systems from model development through robot integration, customer-site deployment and ongoing improvement. For a candidate with proven technical leadership and delivery experience, the role can include appointment as CTO, with responsibility for technical strategy, architecture and building the engineering team. The CTO scope remains hands-on, including coding, debugging and field deployment. Responsibilities Develop and optimise computer vision models for object detection, segmentation, tracking, pose estimation and spatial understanding; integrate perception with navigation, manipulation and task execution. Own data collection, annotation quality, model training and evaluation. Turn deployment feedback and failure cases into measurable improvements in accuracy and reliability. Build and operate edge AI inference services on NVIDIA Jetson and GPU-based systems. Optimise latency, memory, compute and power use through profiling, quantisation and model conversion. Integrate AI services with robot SDKs, APIs and ROS/ROS2. Design clear interfaces between perception, planning and control across multiple robot platforms. Act as a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE): understand customer workflows, assess sites, deploy and test systems, troubleshoot failures and support acceptance testing and handover. Build production capabilities including logging, monitoring, health checks, versioned releases, rollback and safe failure handling. Document configurations, tests and operating procedures. Work with hardware and integration engineers to isolate software, sensor, network and robot-interface issues; support demonstrations, pilots and live deployments. For the CTO scope, set the technical roadmap with the founder, balancing customer delivery, reusable platform capabilities and long-term product development. For the CTO scope, own architecture decisions, code quality, engineering standards and release readiness. Make practical build-versus-buy decisions within startup resource constraints. For the CTO scope, mentor engineers and interns, contribute to hiring and build a team that takes responsibility for system performance in the field. Requirements 5–10 years of relevant experience building and deploying computer vision or robotics AI systems, with evidence of working code and real-world results. Proficiency in Python and working knowledge of C++; experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow, OpenCV, Linux/Ubuntu and Git. Hands-on experience with model deployment and optimisation, using tools such as ONNX, TensorRT or equivalent inference frameworks. Ability to build and troubleshoot edge services, APIs, containers and networked systems; familiarity with ROS/ROS2 and robot integration. Comfortable owning an issue from diagnosis to resolution, communicating clearly with customers and collaborating across software and hardware teams. A degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated engineering experience. Practical capability matters more than academic titles. For CTO consideration, demonstrated ownership of system architecture, production delivery and technical team leadership. Willingness to work at customer sites and travel as required. Travel is essential, with occasional evening or weekend support for scheduled deployments and events. A genuine passion for AI and robotics, a willingness to build and experiment, and the persistence to resolve problems in real-world conditions. Comfort with uncertainty, changing priorities and working in a small team; initiative, a willingness to learn quickly and ownership of outcomes. Preferred Qualifications Additional experience in visual navigation, visual servoing, robot manipulation, RGB-D perception, vision-language models, simulation, deployment data pipelines or maintaining AI services across multiple devices and customer sites.
