Head of Derivatives Operations Report to: CEO Work Location: Remote Employment Type: Full‑time Job Description We are seeking a Head of Derivatives Operations to take end‑to‑end ownership of operations and business growth for perpetual swaps and other derivatives on MEXC centralized exchange. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will formulate and execute strategies centered on derivatives trading volume, active traders, user retention and business revenue. This role requires comprehensive expertise covering user growth, product operations, data analytics and commercial performance. You will align cross‑functional teams including Product, Tech, Marketing, Business Development, Risk Management and Customer Support to build a robust growth framework for derivatives business. Key Responsibilities Business Strategy & Performance Targets Develop annual, quarterly and monthly operational plans for derivatives business in alignment with corporate strategy. Own core KPIs including derivatives trading volume, active traders, fee revenue and user retention. Analyze market trends, user demands and competitor dynamics to identify growth opportunities. Regularly report business progress, critical bottlenecks, resource requirements and roadmaps to the CEO. Establish a full‑cycle operating mechanism covering target setting, strategy decomposition, project execution and data‑driven reviews. User Growth & Lifecycle Management Build complete user conversion funnels spanning registration, deposit, first‑time trade and sustained trading activities. Implement granular user segmentation based on asset size, trading frequency, volume and risk appetite. Design differentiated operational strategies for new users, active users, high‑net‑worth individuals, professional traders and churned users. Deploy mission frameworks, fee rebates, trial funds, VIP benefits and re‑engagement campaigns to lift conversion and retention rates. Balance user acquisition cost, subsidy efficiency and long‑term user value. Product Operations & Experience Improvement Possess solid understanding of perpetual swap mechanics including margin, leverage, liquidation, funding rate, mark price and risk limits. Diagnose user behaviours and churn drivers across fund transfer, position opening, take‑profit / stop‑loss, margin add‑on and position closing workflows. Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Data teams to iterate trading workflows, product features and operational tooling. Roll out user feedback loops to resolve issues hindering conversion and user experience. Participate in go‑to‑market strategy formulation for new products, features and new derivatives trading pairs. Campaign & Growth Initiatives Design and launch trading competitions, team contests, new‑user campaigns, market‑driven promotions and regional growth projects. Evaluate campaigns against incremental new users, additional trading volume, revenue and ROI. Distinguish organic growth, campaign‑driven growth and channel‑sourced growth to assess genuine business momentum. Partner with Risk teams to detect volume‑farming, arbitrage, bot accounts and incentive abuse. Rapidly design and roll out operational initiatives responding to market movements and trending events. Channel & Regional Alignment Cooperate with Marketing, Business Development, Affiliates, KOLs, Community and regional teams to drive derivatives user acquisition. Develop localized user acquisition and conversion strategies for different countries and regions. Evaluate channel performance in terms of user quality, trading contribution, retention and acquisition cost. Provide product training, operational tooling and marketing enablement for channel and marketing stakeholders. Data Analytics & Operational System Building Build data dashboards, KPI frameworks and routine monitoring workflows for derivatives business. Continuously track trading volume, active users, first‑trade conversion rate, user retention and fee income. Validate operational strategies via user cohort analysis, funnel diagnostics, A/B testing and incremental experiments. Pinpoint growth bottlenecks and drive cross‑functional resolution. Document standardized workflows for campaign execution, user operations, analytics and cross‑team collaboration. Team Building & People Management Lead derivatives operations team setup, target cascading, performance management and talent development. Clarify team responsibilities and establish efficient project delivery and post‑review mechanisms. Elevate the team’s knowledge of trading products, user behaviours, market dynamics and risk control. Mobilize internal resources to ensure on‑time delivery of priority business projects. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree or above; Majors in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related fields are preferred. Minimum 5 years of working experience in internet, fintech, crypto industry or digital‑platform operations. Proven track record in user growth, product operations, commercial operations or end‑to‑end business management, with people‑management experience. Prior experience at top‑tier internet firms, large‑scale tech platforms or mature fintech organizations. Strong data‑analytics capabilities: identify business pain points, formulate strategies and measure outcomes based on data insights. Hands‑on experience with user segmentation, lifecycle operations, growth experiments, subsidy design and conversion‑funnel optimization. Quick learner of derivatives trading mechanics, trader behaviours and crypto‑market dynamics. Excellent cross‑functional coordination skills to drive delivery across Product, Engineering, Marketing, BD and Risk teams. Sound commercial judgement, target‑oriented mindset and resilience to thrive in fast‑changing market environments. Proficiency in English for daily working purposes. Preferred Qualifications Previous ownership of derivatives business at a leading or fast‑growing crypto exchange. Hands‑on experience building derivatives‑operations systems from scratch. Existing networks of professional traders, quant funds, brokers or high‑net‑worth users. Familiarity with API trading, copy‑trading, trading bots and institutional‑trading products. Multi‑market operational experience covering multiple languages and geographies, including regulated jurisdictions. Working knowledge of futures, options and structured derivatives.
